DGKI Guidelines for the use
of AI

Join Us

Social Responsibility

DGKI uses Al as a technology to promote the economy, particularly SME, and society in general. When using Al, we strive to ensure that our applications are line with human rights and ethical guidelines. We are also aware of the energy consumption of computing-intensive Al applications. Hence, we consciously make decisions to pursue the goal of resource-conserving use of Al (ie. using low CO2 emission data centers)

Serving Humans

DGKI strives to use Al as a technology to responsibly develop applications and solutions for SME. We do not see Al as an end in itself. We aim to give customers and their employees tangible added value in their day-to-day work (e.g. improved customer experience, reduced workload through less manual effort, space for professional development). We are aware of the potential challenges related to AI and therefore continuously review the effects of our applications on humans, taking into account a balanced risk-benefit assessment.

Transparency

DGKI strives for a high degree of transparency for our AI applications. Due to the complexity of the technology and the nature of their programming, we may not be able to always comprehensively communicate the decision-making process of the embedded Large Language Models (LLM). However, we will preferably implement open-source LLM developed in the EU to ensure the highest degree of transparency and ethical behavior. In communicating openly with our clients and the public, we strive to explain the logic behind our applications as clear and understandable as possible. We are committed to building trustand acceptance of Al technology. Hence, we use AI responsibly and openly promote awareness of the current limits and potential risks of the technology.

Non-Discrimination

Fair treatment of individuals and groups by AI is a top priority for the DGKI. It is of the utmost importance to us, that our applications are not biased towards any responses and equally usable as well as useful to all people. We strive to prevent all kind of malicious manipulation of our applications and continuously monitor that results produced are at all times in line with human rights and ethical guidelines.
